Giovanni’s café and pizzeria in Douglassville PA

I went to this place about a year and a half ago with Nick for one of my projects for this nutrition course I took in college and can honestly say I’m happy we came back. They didn’t have mozzarella sticks the first time we came, but now they do! Best addition to any menu! The breading was super crispy and the cheese was super stringy. Good stick with and without marinara. 8/10 holla @ these sticks.

Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie, North Garden VA

You may be asking why I suddenly branched out to Virginia of all places. Well, my boyfriend and I were down in Charlottesville visiting my Aunt, and my Aunt and Uncle recommended we check out the mozzarella sticks here. I can actually say it was the best decision ever. I was so impressed with the presentation of it, I decided to take a picture (which i’ll probably continue from this post on). They were served with basil and sprinkled Parmesan, were fantastic throughout the entire stick and was actually the first mozzarella sticks that actually tasted better WITHOUT the marinara sauce! My Aunt, Uncle, Boyfriend and I collectively gave it a 9.2/10. If I could eat these every day, I would.Snapchat-1505919282766053278

Sheetz!

This was a suggestion given to me by my friend, Caleb, and I’m super grateful he suggested these to me! The marinara perfectly complimented the sticks and the cheese was FANTASTIC. I honestly didn’t expect a gas station to have such bangin mozzarella sticks, but I guess I can’t say that again. These were basically a diamond in a gold mine haha. 8.5-9/10 only because I want to save the 10 for the best ever, but this is the best I’ve tasted so far. Very highly recommend.

Douglassville Hotel, Douglassville PA

This place is awesome! Not only do they have 110 choices of burgers, the sticks were pretty good as well! The cheese was the best cheese I’ve ever had, but the breading seemed a little too thick for my taste and kinda took away from the taste and flavor of the cheese. They were a solid 8/10 though. Definitely something to try if you’re in the area, even if it’s only for the burgers.

West Ave, Wayne PA

This is also right where I work (come in to AME salon & spa and give the front desk crew some rad reviews 😛 ). I was a little disappointed with this, considering the place is in Wayne. The sticks didn’t stand out at all, and were very bland without the marinara. The presentation was nothing special either, but that might be because I was too busy and had to have it delivered. They’re good if you enjoy stringy cheese, and i’d eat them again if i had to, just not my favorite. 7/10

Ruby Tuesday’s

I was a little intrigued when I saw ‘fried mozzarella’ on the menu instead of ‘mozzarella sticks’. Nonetheless, it must be tried! I liked how the mozzarella ITSELF followed the stick, not the other way around. The cheese was also really nice and stringy. 8/10 I’d eat quite a few more times. Also know this cheese was actual cheese because my friend that accompanied me is lactose-intolerant and let’s just say she let me know. holla @ real cheese.

The Brick House, Pottstown PA

This was a really rough night. I got pretty drunk (my boyfriend’s brother can attest) and don’t completely remember exactly what they tasted like, but I posted a status about it, so I guess I had my priorities straight at that point. The status reads ‘A+ I’m too tipsy to write anything else cheese is yes. sauce is eh 8.5/10’

Not sure if I should trust this because a drunk me is usually an honest me, or if I shouldn’t because a drunk me pretty much thinks everything is delicious. I’ll let you decide. Let me know what you guys think of this one is you’re ever up in Pottstown.

Applebee’s

I know, it’s surprising that I even continued this journey after the heartbreak that occurred in the last post. TBH, I don’t even know what compelled me to try McDonald’s. I should have known not to expect anything other than crap, but I guess I’m just butthurt over all of the hype that was made up for these. Seriously? You’re not going to put any cheese into the stick??? what’s even the point then??

okay. i’ll stop. i’m just bitter.

Upon first taste, it seemed the marinara tried to hide the taste of the stick itself, but when we ate it separately, the breading was crumbly and kind of melted in your mouth, unlike . MCDONALD’S. My boyfriend and I collectively gave it a 7.5/10.
